IVY Couture 

IVY Couture showcased their AW bridal Collection 2018 at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. The collection draws its inspiration from art deco movement. Based in a vivid color scheme the collection featured geometric shapes. The silhouettes for the collection have been modernized and yet the old world charm was reflected through the signature handcrafted techniques. Musicians Jimmy Khan, Lucky Ji and Naghma performed their hit song ‘Baalkada’ for the show and film and TV actress Mawra Hocane walked the ramp as a celebrity showstopper.

 

 

Farah & Fatima

Farah & Fatima showcased their bridal collection titled ‘Dastaan’ at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018. The collection was a display of timeless beauty and rich traditions.


 

Zainab Salman 

Making her bridal ramp debut this season at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018, Zainab Salman showcased her debut bridal collection titled ‘Bazeecha-e-Ishq’– The Game of Love. Showcasing in collaboration with Shafaq Habib, the inspiration behind the collection came from “the desire to raise the deep voice of love that resides within all of us. Love can be in the form of a person or it can be the divine love for God: the unconditional, infinite and eternal love.”The collection is a blend of rich fabrics, soft hues and bold patterns and craftsmanship adopting unique embellishment techniques to create original, heirloom pieces. Featuring intricate hand embroideries that are derived from fresco art embedded in our traditional architecture, Zainab has used embellishments such as mukesh, gota, mirror and thread work.Using light and pastel shades, the silhouettes have been kept predominantly classic. The collection also featured five menswear pieces. Musician Ali Noor and Actress Iqra Aziz participated in the designer’s showcase as celebrity showstoppers.

 

 

The House of Kamiar Rokni

The House of Kamiar Rokni showcased the brand new A/W 2018/2019 bridal collection titled ‘Moonrise’ as the finale on Day-2 of PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018 in Lahore. The collection draws its inspiration from moon which is universally a feminine symbol representing the system of time and pays homage to this symbolism. The collection comprises of pieces that respect tradition but are made for the woman of today. They are heirlooms; a legacy that is passed on from one generation to the next.

 

 

Rici Melion 

Rici Melion made its PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018 ramp debut with ‘Mansiraj’– Light of the Mind. The collection paid homage to the era of Mughal Architecture with its glorious monument Hiran Minar, its design, patterns and setting is symbolic of noble simplicity yet utter grandeur. The Wedding Collection ‘Mansiraj’ is creatively conceptualized using a variety of hand woven ultra-fine brocades, modernized appliqued cotton silks and our all-time favorite velvets. With traditional cuts, the collection features a variety of embellishments which have been inspiringly complemented to create an exuberant outlook overall. The outfits are enriched with ganna jamni work to the slightly modern 3D embellishments. The luxury designer men’s wear label, Rici Melion’s collection comprised of 15 groom looks for various wedding occasions along with 1 bridal wear look. Showcased in collaboration with jewelry designer Grace Jewelers, this collection has a prestigiously enriched color palette with tones of reds, blues, greens, and off whites. The ‘Mansiraj’ collection is conceptualized from the evolutionary patterns of the Mughal era garments. Modern and trendier form of the Mughal sherwanis were showcased in the collection.

 

 

Ahmad Bilal

Ahmad Bilal showcased ‘Noor-e-Nazar’ bridal collection at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. The collection draws its inspiration from the love of art and concept of empowerment and liberation. It is based in fabrics such as jamawar, chiffon, organza, tissue and silk with fusion of resham work, tilla embedded with pearls & stones. The color palette for the collection is based in rouge, black and muted shades of golds. In line with the inspiration, the collection makes use of traditional embellishment techniques of kora and dabqa. Film actress Resham participated in the designer’s showcase as a celebrity showstopper.

 

 

Ali Xeeshan 

The finale of Day-1 was presented by a solo show featuring Ali Xeeshan Theater Studio who showcased his bridal collection titled ‘Ijaazat’ at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018. The collection paid homage to the skilled craftsmanship of our culture with blends of uber chic design details using unconventional materials. Hues of red were a major part of the color palette for the collection.

 

 

Tabya Khan 

Day-3 of PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018 early evening grouped bridal showcases was opened by Tabya Khan with her bridal collection ‘Jasmin’. The collection takes its inspiration from Chinese Art Deco. Based in shades of pink, the collection used luxury fabrics such as organza, nets and tissue. Film and TV actress Sarwat Gillani participated in the designer’s showcase as a celebrity showstopper.

 

 

Saira Shakira 

Saira*Shakira showcased their bridal collection ‘Fairuza’ in a solo show, in collaboration with BeeDazzeled, at the eighth edition of PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. A glitzy throwback to Persia in the 1920s reimagined with contemporary workmanship, ‘Fairuza’ is based on enriching color palette from nudes, to red and everything in between. Showcasing 30 ensembles, the collection also featured menswear pieces. Film actress Saba Qamar participated in the designer’s showcase as a celebrity showstopper. 

 

 

Republic by Omar Farooq

Republic by Omar Farooq showcased the bridal collection ‘Hunar’ at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. The collection is inspired by the eclectic ancient art and architecture of the subcontinent and aims to bring the intricate detailing and unique artistry of the Mughal era to life. Based on the beauty of Rajasthan and pre-colonial subcontinent it pays homage to the foundation of our heritage, craft and love for beauty and art. The entire collection is put together through classic silhouettes in a range of subdued pastel shades. ‘Hunar’ explores the use of a variety of crafts and intricate workmanship brought to light by the subcontinental legacy. Looking at art and architecture from the past, floral elements combine with an array of historic symbolisms that reflect life and beauty. The collection celebrates the confident, classic man- one who appreciates art and history as much as he appreciates fashion and beauty.


 

Nomi Ansari 

PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018 Day-1 was opened by haute couturier Nomi Ansari who showcased his Bridal/Festive collection ‘Maya’ (Illusion), in collaboration with jewellery designer Hamna Amir. Inspired by the splendour of the subcontinent’s opulent palaces of yore, the collection invokes a sophisticated, timeless majesty, while staying true to the design house’s signature aesthetics. Working with sumptuous tulle, pure organza and sheer layers to create voluminous silhouettes, including flowing skirts, wide pants and Dhaka pajamas dovetailed with sleek, tailored cholis; the festive collection is buoyed by a varied and vivid colour spectrum veering from ivory, mint, apple green and candy pink to saffron, gold, rouge red, magenta, midnight blue and noir black. ‘Maya’ is further exquisitely embellished with antique gota details and artisanal hand-embroidery, including zardozi, aari, mukesh and intricate appliqué work, end-noted with a playful and inventive splash of Swarovski crystals, ideal for myriad celebratory occasions including wedding events and sangeet soirées. Lead actress Maya Ali from Teefa in Trouble participated in the designer’s showcase as a celebrity showstopper.


 

Nickie Nina

Nickie Nina showcased her bridal collection ‘Noor Mahal’ collection at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. In the collection, chunri and block prints have been delicately worked with intricate imagery from Southern Punjab.

 

 

Nida Azwer

The evening bridal showcase was opened with a solo show by Nida Azwer who showcased her bridal collection ‘Rani Bagh’ at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. The collection draws its inspiration from the royal courts and gardens of the Mughal era. The opulence of the courts is translated into fine embroideries made in zardozi, marori, wasli, gota, kamdani, mirror work and fine silk threads. Voluminous kalidars, angharkas, and peshwases have been paired with magnificent farshi ghararas, lenghas, izars, and chooridaars that are complimented with richly worked dupattas and chaddars. The collection stays true to Nida Azwer’s love for birds and horses, which are finely intertwined with delicate florals and paisleys. For the showcase, Nida has collaborated with Ali Javeri jewelers who have designed the ‘Mughal Treasures’ collection of fine jewelry with shoes (traditional khussas) by Soma.

 

 

Misha Lakhani

Misha Lakhani showcased her bridal collection ‘Ab-e-Rawan’, meaning running water at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week in the grouped show category. The poetic name given to the various flowy muslins from 16th century Mughal India, ‘Ab-e-Rawan’ celebrates the bohemian nomad in a mix of Persian and Central Asian textiles, hand-woven fabrics that coexist with the finest quality needle-craft to create looks that are steeped in old-world charm, yet versatile and effortless. The fabrics range from hand-woven muslins, silks, gauzy nets, velvet, organza and tissues. The colour palette includes ivory, blush pink, daffodil yellow, peach, carmine, duck egg blue, midnight blue and black with pea green accents. An eclectic mix of old crafts and modern ideas, the collection featured pre-draped dupattas, hand-crafted sandals, voluminous crushed gagras layered looks using versatile separates, off shoulder blouses, jodhpurs and angarkhas. “I love looking to centuries past to inspire collections, but always with my current context in mind; the clothing has to be as effortless as it is beautiful.” said Misha Lakhani.

 

 

HSY 

Pakistan’s iconic couturier HSY staged the powerful grand finale of the 8th edition of PFDC L`Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018 with the brand’s new A/W Bridal couture collection titled “Zmarei” or ‘lioness’ in Pashto. With ‘Zmarei’, HSY paid tribute to the powerful, modern woman of today; the new, the fearless and dynamic generation of strong women. The collection also celebrated the beauty of diversity in all women. For ‘Zmarei’ and under the aegis of the HSY Mentorship Programme (HMP) HSY collaborated with 35 young creative professionals across universities, colleges and those freelancing with each person assessed and mentored by Hassan Sheheryar Yasin. These individuals come from varied background, embracing what the collection itself stands for: the beauty in diversity. A collection based in making bridal couture more accessible and affordable, the ‘Zmarei’ collection channeled swirling hemlines, gold edgings, delicate paisley motifs with detailed design. It projects silhouettes of flowing organza, draped watercolor silks, structured raw silk and rich velvet textures. All motifs and accessories for the collection were all made in Pakistan by Team HSY using local materials and artisans. Indie-folk band Khumariyaan performed live during the bridal ramp showcase.

 

 

Faraz Manan

The evening bridal showcase was opened by a solo show featuring Faraz Manan who showcased his bridal collection ‘AlHambra’ collection at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. In collaboration with Shazia Deen of Neemar for jewellery pieces, the collection is an amalgamation of East and the West and takes its inspiration from the majestic beauty of Granada and the spectacular fortress built by the Nasrid dynasty in the 13th century in Europe. Staying true to designer’s signature style, the collection featured forty pieces including select menswear pieces. For the collection European fabrics such as organza, nets have been fused with rich jamawars from the East. The color palette for the collection is also signature designer colors including blush, sandstone, terra cotta, jewel tones mainly inspired by the colors and architecture of Alhambra itself. The silhouettes for the collection are more structured and tailored reflecting the grandeur of Arabia and modesty of Arab Culture. L’Orel Paris Local Spokesperson and supermodel Mehreen Syed walked the ramp as a celebrity showstopper.

 

 

FAS Design Studio

FAS showcased the bridal collection ‘Sur Taal’ at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. The collection draws its inspiration from Romantic Surrealism involving around classism of European architectural ornaments. It aims to redefine the classics of bridal wear by making use of luxe fabrics and 3D embellishments. Film and TV actress Kubra Khan participated in the designer’s showcase as a celebrity showstopper.

 

 

 Jeem by Hamza Bokhari

Jeem by Hamza Bokhari showcased his bridal collection ‘Mizaaj’ at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week with Samreen Vance as the jewellery partner. The collection draws its inspiration from the crafts and grandeur of South of Pakistan and mixing it with sparkling floral poetry and animal motifs into his hyper feminine silhouettes in a palette of wintry jewel tones. Set in fabrics of silks, brocades, organzas, zardozi work, block printed textiles ‘Mizaaj’ features traditional silhouettes such as angrakha, jama and azaar. The color palette is also inspired from the vivacious colors of Southern Punjab. The collection also featured select menswear pieces.

 

 

Hussain Rehar

Hussain Rehar showcased his debut “RGYAAL-MO” collection at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. The collection draws its inspiration from the reverie where the two tribes combine to create another tribal fantasy.

 

 

Mehroze Saboor

Mehroze Saboor made his ramp debut at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018 with his collection titled ‘The Garden of Earthy Delights’. Inspired from the memory of biblical Garden of Eden, to the gardens providing the scenario for the pursuit of earthly loves, this collection embraces the symbolic meanings of the renaissance with its sacred stories and the folklore of romance surrounded by roses with garden pinks and carnations. The collection is constructed with various types of silks, Japanese crepe with silhouettes designed by keeping in mind the clothing styles of Renaissance such as cloaks, capes, structured jackets and interesting variations of asymmetrical cutlines. Embellishment includes various techniques of thread work with cross stitches, French knots and an amalgamation of sequin and bead work. With a colour palette which is a mix of Prussian blue, Rose pink, Jade green, Sepia gold, Garnet and a poetic blend of rose and black, ‘The Garden of Earthy Delights’ combines flowy and clean structured silhouettes.

 

Lajwanti

PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018 early evening grouped bridal showcase was opened by Lajwanti with their bridal collection ‘A tale of Spain’. The collection is inspired by Muslim influence in Spain during 799 AD. The motif work and details are also inspired from the rich and vibrant historic architecture and culture. The color palette is based in the shades of red, gold and green depicting the essence of traditional weddings. The collection makes use of materials and fabrics, ranging from pure silks, jamavar and tissue, meticulously worked with stone work, dabka and nakshi kaam.

 

 

Rema & Shehrbano

Making their ramp debut at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018, Rema & Shehrbano showcased their bridal collection ‘Sophia’, in collaboration with BeeDazzeled. Glamorous, understated and unapologetically feminine, ‘Sophia’ features sculptural pieces, playful ruffles, colourful accents and flirty details. The fabrics consist of velvet, tissue, organza, cotton net, jamawar and shamoise with cuts from angrakhas to box kurtas, lengha cholis, modern as well as classic bridals and peshwas. The pieces also incorporate hand work of gota, zardozi, mukeish, tilla, kora, dabka and hand embroidery. Sophisticated, classic and elegant, the color palette comprises of vibrant mango and coral shades to glamorous jewel tones, dusky gold`s and modern silver and whites. L’Oréal Paris Local Spokesperson and super model Mehreen Syed participated in the designer’s showcase as a celebrity showstopper. “We are extremely excited and humbled to be partaking in PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2018 this year. We have worked very hard on this collection - but also at our label - so it`s a big milestone for us. Ahmed Sultan 

Ahmed Sultan showcased his “Nazrana-e-Ishq" collection at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week. The collection draws its inspiration from the pure feeling of falling in love. The color palette is based in bright and bold colours with shades of red and gold. Set in rich luxurious materials such as chiffons, nets, organza, kimkhab, kundun zair, silks and jamawars the collection aims to reinvent classic silhouettes with a modern twist by making use of traditional embroideries with modern 3D work. The showcase also featured menswear pieces. TV actress Aiman Khan participated in the designer’s showcase as a celebrity showstopper.
